Privacy Policy
Effective date: 23 August 2026. This policy describes how ZapDrop ("we", "us") handles information when you use zapdrop.online ("the Service").
Lawful use
ZapDrop is a neutral peer-to-peer file transfer service. We do not host, moderate, or monitor transferred files and are not responsible for how they are used. Users are solely responsible for ensuring the content they share is lawful, and bear sole legal responsibility for any unlawful use.
Your files are not uploaded or stored
ZapDrop is a peer-to-peer (P2P) file transfer service. When you share a file, the file bytes are sent directly from the sender's browser to the receiver's browser over an encrypted WebRTC connection. We do not upload, copy, store, or have access to the contents or names of the files you transfer through the Service.
What the Worker handles
Our Cloudflare Worker relays the connection metadata required to set up a peer-to-peer session (WebRTC Session Description and ICE candidates). Each transfer uses a random, unguessable room identifier that acts as the share link's access token. The Worker does not see your file's bytes or, until a connection is established, its name. Signalling messages are held only for the duration of the handshake and are not used for profiling.
Information we collect
We do not require an account and do not ask for your name, email, or any personal details to use the Service. We collect no personal data for the core transfer feature. Like nearly all websites, our hosting infrastructure (Cloudflare) may process standard, automatically-generated technical data such as IP addresses and request logs for security and abuse prevention.
Cookies and advertising
The core Service does not set tracking cookies. If we display advertising in the future, third-party ad vendors, including Google AdSense, may use cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or the opt-out page of the Network Advertising Initiative. Third-party ad networks may collect information to measure ad performance. We will keep this policy updated if and when such technologies are enabled.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your rights
Because we hold no account data and no files, there is typically nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you believe any information about you is held by us, you may contact us and we will address your request in accordance with applicable law.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
